Bristol City will unveil a new home kit next month after switching supplier from Puma to Adidas.

The club will announce the move as a "long-term deal", but the Post understands it to be a four-year contract.

New training and leisure wear will be available from June 1 with the home kit out later in the month and a new away strip after that.

Adidas already boasts Chelsea, Liverpool, Derby County and Middlesbrough among its clients and City's group managing director Doug Harman said: "We are delighted to be able to announce our new kit and leisurewear partnership with Adidas.

"The new arrangement underlines the club's ambition to move ahead on all fronts with plans that add value to the Bristol City brand and our partnership with Adidas is certain to achieve that.

"The fashionable new range is bound to prove very popular and I am confident this will lead to record sales of replica kit and of training and leisure wear. Fans will be able to purchase training wear and view the new home shirt in the Megastore from June 1."

The BCFC Megastore at Ashton Gate will be refitted later this month as part of the new agreement with Adidas.

Meanwhile, City have officially released Lee Trundle and Brian Wilson at the end of their contracts.

Trundle joined City from Swansea for around £1 million in the summer of 2007, while Wilson moved to Bristol from Cheltenham the previous January.

Also leaving are goalkeeper Steve Collis, who yesterday signed on loan for Torquay, and young trio Frankie Artus, Tristan Plummer and Ashley Kington. City will not retain any interest in loan players Evander Sno (Ajax), Patrick Agyemang (QPR) and Andrius Velicka (Rangers).

City have offered first professional contracts to academy striker Joe Lennox and defender Danny Ball while forward Marlon Jackson, currently preparing for the League Two play-offs with Aldershot, is also mulling over a one-year deal.

Full-back Joe Edwards has signed on for another 12 months and Plymouth Argyle left-back Gary Sawyer, who finished the season on loan at Ashton Gate, remains in talks with the Robins over a possible permanent switch.

Caretaker boss Keith Millen said: "We wish all the players who are leaving the club well for their futures and I'm sure they'll all end up with other clubs."

Meanwhile, City will hold their annual awards evening at Ashton Gate tonight. The event is sold out.

The nominations for player of the year, won last season by Dele Adebola, are 21-goal top-scorer Nicky Maynard and midfielders Cole Skuse and Paul Hartley.

Maynard is also in the running to retain his young player title along with fellow striker Danny Haynes and Christian Ribeiro, who broke into the side in the final quarter of the campaign.

Maynard will collect the top goalscorer award and will also pick up a special Golden Boot from the supporters.
