Cup winnings takes pressure off Mangotsfield United

FA TROPHY: With almost £10,000 earned in prize money from a good FA Cup run, manager Phil Bater is in credit with the Mangotsfield United board so there is not so much expectation on Sunday's FA Trophy clash away to Slough Town.

That sort of prize money has really helped to make things more stable off the pitch," said Bater, whose side beat Gillingham in Tuesday's FA Cup replay to earn a trip to big-spending Cornish side Truro City in the next round.

Neil Arndale and Geraint Bater will both have fitness tests for Sunday and, while Lee Collier has re-joined training, he is unlikely to be in the squad until the following week.

Paulton Rovers manager Andrew Jones has signed utility-player Kane Ingram from Hellenic League side Almondsbury Town.

"I tried to get Kane in the summer but he wanted to stay loyal to Paul Weeks, but now that he has left, he has decided to join us and I'm delighted," said Jones.

"Kane can play up front, midfield or on the wing and gives us extra options."

Ingram is included in the squad for tomorrow's FA Trophy match away to Windsor & Eton, who held Paulton to a goalless draw a few weeks back.

"They are one of the best teams we have faced this season, so I'm expecting a tough match down there, but our confidence is quite high at the moment," added Jones.

Striker Paul Metheringham's return to Yate Town has been delayed after the player suffered further problems with his knee.

"Paul has been on the path to recovery after a knee operation last season and has been playing for AXA, but after last weekend's game his knee was swollen which is really disappointing for him and us," said Yate boss Dave Mogg.

"His return would have increased competition for places, but we will have to be patient for a while longer and see how things go for him."

Mark Reynolds is struggling for the FA Trophy match at Bishop's Cleeve, while Sam Duggan is suspended and Zane Simpson is unavailable.
