DAILY MIRROR: Jenson Button stormed to a fairytale victory in the opening round of the world championship in Australia yesterday. Also: Michael Owen’s hopes of an England resurrection appeared crushed last night when the Newcastle striker was told he represented Three Lions “history”.

DAILY EXPRESS: Jenson Button raced to a sensational victory in Australia as his new Brawn team equalled a 55-year-old record – then claimed it was far from his finest performance. Also: Fabio Capello has ruled out asking Michael Owen to ease his striking problems ahead of the World Cup qualifier with Ukraine after warning that past deeds count for nothing in the bright future he is shaping for England.
