Sports massage: definitely worth doing, but don't expect scented oils.

It's hard and to be honest it's more exhausting and relaxing.

After an hour on the bench, with the masseuse pounding my knotted limbs and aching muscles, I was advised to drink about three litres of water during the rest of the day.

Toxins had been worked out of the muscle fibres and needed flushing out of my system.

And the loss of those toxins meant that I went home, had a pint of water and passed out on the sofa.

Hannah Phillips, the young lady who I went to see in the treatment rooms at Moti, is an athlete herself.

Apart from playing in a competitive Bristol netball league, Hannah also lifts weights in her spare time.

And it shows.

Strong arms and hands squeezed into my back and legs to tease the knots out of them.

Fortunately the day after was a rest day!
