Five hit by car in Bristol city centre

Five pedestrians were injured following a collision with a car in Bristol city centre on Saturday night.

A woman was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and driving under the influence of alcohol following the accident in St Augustine's Parade at 11.15pm.

Police closed the road for an hour.

The five pedestrians were not badly injured, but at least one was taken to hospital.

In April, film and TV actor Kris Marshall suffered head injuries after he was hit by a car in the same place while on a night out in Bristol.
