More than £13,500 worth of motorbikes and goods have been stolen from a company in Brislington.

In the early hours of Thursday morning, thieves broke into Superbyke Ltd loaded up a stolen van with high-value bikes and a steam shower, before driving off.

The white Mercedes Sprinter van, registration KR03 DHK, which has the writing "superroom installation team" on the side", was later found burnt out behind Proper Job on the Bath Road.

The bikes stolen were a blue WR450 F Yamaha, registration WJ55 DRZ; a yellow RD350 F Yamaha, registration H85 TGP; and a black and red RD350 F Yamaha, registration H785 COU.

Also stolen were an ADS-60 steam shower unit, which was locked in the in rear of the van with the WR450 motorbike, and 150-piece socket set from Halfords.

The rear fire exit door of the premises had been wedged open in the 5am raid, with both the deadlock and the catch from the door smashed.

Sales manager Meirion Guyon was called after the alarm at the premises was activated. He said the company is offering a £2,000 reward for any information that leads to the arrest and prosecution of the bike thieves.

"All of the bikes were high value vehicles, it appears they had been cherry-picked," he said. "We're willing to pay a reward and I would hope that anyone in the area who hears about people looking to sell them will contact the police as soon as possible."

Anyone with information on the crime should call police on 0845 4567000, quoting crime reference 84259/09, or independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
