Second body confirmed as missing Weston swimmer

Police have confirmed a body found in the Bristol Channel the sea at Barry, Wales was missing swimmer Lee Tompkins.

Inquests on Lee and his friend, David Ellams, who was recovered in Clevedon bay, also on Tuesday, will be formally opened and adjourned later today.

Both men are believed to have drowned after being swept away in high tides on June 23.

They were missing for one week before their bodies washed up and were recovered by RNLI crews.
