Olympian Steve Cram's tips for Bristol Half Marathon

Olympic medal winner Steve Cram has urged runners in this year's Bristol Half Marathon to enjoy the experience rather than focusing on a fast time.

He gave some tips and advice at a workshop in Bristol on Tuesday night as part of the preparations for the half marathon in the city on September 6.

Steve, 48, who won a silver medal in the 1,500 metres at the Los Angeles Games in 1984, said: "There are not many events these days where you can get a sense of community. But with big events like this, you can. It's not about how fast you can run, it's about taking part."

Steve went on a short run with a group of runners before taking part in a question and answer session at Coombe Dingle Sports Centre, Coombe Lane.
