Noah's Ark Zoo Farm animals to take part in nativity play

Animals from a Wraxall zoo farm are to take centre stage at a special Christmas nativity production.

The Riding Lights Theatre Company will be at Noah's Ark Zoo Farm on December 12 for a performance of the festive story, Nearly the Goat.

Animals from the farm, including goats, sheep, donkeys and llamas, will feature alongside professional actors for the production.

Tickets for the show, at 2.30pm, are £5 and available by ringing the zoo farm.

Noah's Ark events organiser, Sammi Luxa, said: "Nearly the Goat will be a mixture of a nativity play and a pantomime and will feature professional actors, puppets and live animals from the zoo.

"This interpretation of the nativity story will be a fantastic way to kick start the countdown to Christmas."

Each year, the farm opens the doors of its 500-seat Ark Arena to host the nativity plays.

There will be a second play on December 19 called An Ancient Promise, which will be a traditional rendition of the nativity and feature a choir, animals from the zoo and even a real baby.

The choir will be singing carols and the audience will be invited to join in.

There will be two performances of An Ancient Promise at 2.30pm and 4pm, and tickets are free.

Noah's Ark Zoo Farm, which this year welcomed more than 110,000 visitors, re-opens on February 6, 2010.
