Hunt for Bristol girl heads south

Saturday, July 04, 2009, 07:00

Police believe a missing Bradley Stoke school girl and a 22-year-old man may be hiding in Cornwall.

Alyx Leighton was last seen at her home in Bradley Stoke on Friday, June 26 at around 4pm. The Bristol Evening Post reported yesterday that the 15-year-old is believed to have vanished with father-of-two Jack Saxton, who lived near her home.

Alyx's mother Vikki Forse found evidence on the family computer that her daughter had researched B&Bs in Glasgow. But police said yesterday they believed the pair may instead have travelled to Falmouth.

Alyx has shoulder-length, straight, dyed dark hair with two blonde streaks down the sides. She is of medium build, has a pierced tongue and large green/brown eyes.

She was last seen wearing brown Ugg boots, a black long-sleeved top, black leggings, a black belt, beige cardigan and large silver glittery hoop earrings.

Jack's fiancee Helen Channelle yesterday appealed to the pair to come home on this website.

She said: "Jack, Alyx if you are out there reading this, please just come back. The longer you stay away, the worse this is all going to get.

"We are all worried about you both. Alyx, your mum is going out her mind. You are still her baby, you may think you are grown up.

"Please before this gets any deeper. Jack, your sons are missing you and love you, no matter what. Everyone loves and misses you both."

She told readers: "Jack is not a bad person and no, he would not harm Alyx in any way.

"But her parents are worried, Jack's family are worried and I am also worried for him once he realises the severity of his actions."

"Yes, I still love him - I cant switch my feelings off.

"Jack is a loving father who doted on his children this has come to a shock for everyone involved."
