GWR and Marie Curie Cancer Care host charity dinner

Thursday, October 09, 2008, 08:00

Bristol's GWR and Marie Curie Cancer Care are hosting an exclusive 'dining experience with a difference' to raise much-needed funds for home nursing care.

Radio presenters Bush, Troy, Paulina, George, Stu, Gareth and Thunderbike Sam will be joined by a host of other celebrities to wait tables at the Mercure Holland House Hotel on Friday, October 24, in an exclusive event to mark the 60th anniversary of Marie Curie Cancer Care.

A sparkling drinks reception will be followed by a sumptuous three course dinner where illusionist Serge Durigon will be making magic and there will be a taste of the West End guaranteed to have everyone up on their feet and dancing.

A grand auction, exclusive champagne draw, fun casino and dancing until the early hours are all set to make it a memorable night.

Steve Jones, GWR's Managing Director said: "We are really pleased to be working with Marie Curie on this unique event and are all looking forward to a great evening."

All proceeds from the event will go directly to Marie Curie Cancer Care and will help Marie Curie to continue providing free home nursing care to the people of Bristol and the surrounding areas.

Penny Reeves, Regional Corporate Manager, Wales and The West, said: "We are delighted with the effort and commitment that GWR has shown to support our very special work.

"We would like to thank the kind businesses and supporters who have helped us to make this event so special and exclusive.

"There are still sponsorship opportunities for companies to get involved in. "Your company, like others in our city, can benefit from great promotion in supporting this fantastic evening."
