Bristol graffiti tribute to Michael Jackson

Wednesday, July 01, 2009, 12:25

A Banksy-style stencilled tribute to Michael Jackson has appeared in St Paul's near the start of the M32.

The black-and-white stencil shows the singer from his days with the Jackson Five, sporting a large afro and holding a microphone.

The design bears the hallmarks of the elusive graffiti artist, who uses stencils for his street art in order to reduce the amount of time he needs to spend outside.

The new work will be of interest to the thousands of people who have already visited Bristol to see Banksy vs Bristol Museum, a free exhibition which runs until August 31.

A spokesperson for Banksy was unable to confirm whether the stencil was a new piece of work, saying that he never confirms nor denies such appearances.
