Bristol man admits to Clifton Groper sex attacks
Benjamin John Jackson, 29, from Walter Street, Bedminster, was responsible for the string of assaults on lone females in and around the Whiteladies Road area.
Jackson appeared at Bristol Crown Court today via videolink from Horfield Prison.
He admitted three sexual assaults on October 24, November 8 and November 21; and an assault by penetration on November 8.
His defence barrister Rosaleen Collins told the court that after the attacks, Jackson was almost suicidal. She said he was "disgusted with himself" and full of remorse, and that the attacks were completely out of character.
The actions of Jackson, who has light brown hair and was today wearing a red sweater and was clean shaven, led to many women in Clifton to fear for their safety at the time.
A psychiatric report has been carried out on the defendant and judge Jamie Tabor QC adjourned the case for a pre-sentence report. Jackson will be sentenced on July 3.
