Bath forward Browne out of next two games
The No 8 injured his foot during the first half of Friday's 23-16 defeat at Sale and will visit a specialist tomorrow for a full assessment.
But head coach Steve Meehan is planning to be without the 29-year-old for at least tomorrow's home clash with Wasps and the date with Harlequins on Saturday.
"Dan is definitely out of our next two games," said Meehan. "That is absolutely certain."
Another foot injury victim, lock Danny Grewcock, could return for Bath if their season continues into May.
Meehan's side are still very much in the hunt for Premiership and Heineken Cup honours – and could prolong their season by four matches if they are successful in both.
Grewcock, 36, has been out of action since December but is no longer using crutches and is making good progress.
"Danny spent a bit of time in the hydro pool at Manchester United on Friday – and he is going back up there at the end of this week," said Meehan.
"Our physio, Pete Lion, used to work at Reading Football Club and has various football contacts around the country. Danny is going well and if we make the semi-finals, he could be available for those."
Bath have registered three additional players – fly-half Ryan Davis, lock Scott Hobson and prop Laurence Ovens – for the knockout stages of the Heineken Cup.
