Why do we need two of them?
I'M not sure if it's something to do with age or the new year but I've just read in The Post that Faruk Choudhury is going to be the new lord mayor of Bristol.
Unless I've missed something George Ferguson is the current mayor, so maybe I'm missing the point of having another unelected mayor for 'other official' duties.
Seems more than a little strange to me (I would say absurd, but then may be I've missed the point, which I very much doubt). When so many people are tightening their belts and organisations are having to cut budgets that we should have two mayors for the same city and council!
Admittedly it is the 21st Century although I wouldn't call it progress.
