We need Oyster cards in Bristol
BEARING in mind that First Bristol is asking passengers for their views on their buses etc, I would like to ask why they still haven't introduced the Oyster card system which, as far as I remember, they mentioned in 2009 and which last year they said would be operating on Bristol buses by 2013.
Strange how we haven't heard any more about this. They would greatly reduce time getting on the buses for the driver and the passengers and would be a great improvement to the transport system here in Bristol.
We seem to be behind with practically anything to do with the buses here.
I think the tram idea has been going on for at least 20 years.

The latest excuse First Bristol has for the high fares is because of congestion in Bristol.
So how do other large cities manage to keep their fares down?
It is not rocket science to know that if the fares were reduced for passengers, then more people would use the buses instead of their cars.

“Oyster is an outdated system. The new national system is 'ITSO'. The problem is smart cards are extremely difficult to introduce to a deregulated market, if it isn't a closed system ie Manchester !”
