Ridgeway the master at Cromhall Enduro

Keynsham's Suzuki star Matt Ridgeway won the expert's class in the Kingswood Club's Wessex Centre Championship Enduro at Cromhall, in South Gloucestershire.

The top five finishers all covered 18 laps of a three-and-a-half mile circuit at Abbotside Farm. Ridgeway had two minutes to spare over Tim Mayton-Jones, with Joe Duncan a further two minutes adrift in third place.

Ben Shuttleworth won the clubman two-stroke class by a similar distance from Peter King, Greg Hodge and Ricky Sage.

There was a closer result in the veterans' class where Stuart Keedwell, from Mark, Somerset, finished just 40 seconds ahead of Terry Beecham.

Bristol's John May won only one of the three expert class races in the 12th round of the Remedies Bar Motocross Championship at Garlands Moor on the Devon- Cornwall border.

He finished five seconds up on Luke Hill in the first race but Hill turned the tables on him by winning a close second race by less than half-a-second.

May's hopes in race three vanished when his gear lever was bent during a collision with Luke Blanchard, who fell into his path.

Clutton's David Bell finished in the top six in both British championship races in the fifth round of the Classic Bike Motocross Series near Combe Martin, in North Devon. He also finished second in both Devon Grand National races, which were won by Guy Winsor.
