Title-chasing Keynsham stretch their lead with victory over Brislington
Having dismissed Brislington for just 87, after a brace of wickets each for Matt Bancroft, Rich Wilton and Simon Knowles, Keynsham also struggled with the bat as they slipped to 57-6.
Fred Jennings took 3-20 for Brislington, but Wilton and wicketkeeper James Wetton helped Keynsham reach their target. With seven games to go, four more wins will guarantee Keynsham the title in the inaugural year of the Premier League.
Chew Magna recorded their first away win of the season, beating Timsbury by 12 runs.
Batting first, the visitors hit 197-1 as Andy Whitcombe continued his rich vein of form with 56. Matt Brinkworth scored 41 for the losers.
Midsomer Norton's poor run of form continued with a 11-run defeat at Bath.
Chasing 180 to win, after Sam Cottle had taken 3-33, Norton were dismissed for 168, Nick Marsh top-scoring with 61.
In Division One, second-placed Headley Park returned to winning ways with a seven-wicket home victory over Clevedon.
All-rounder Rich Nicholls took the individual honours, taking 4-34 and hitting 71 runs as Park chased 212 to win.
Purnells moved off the bottom of the table for the first time this season after a 31-run win over Keynsham 2nds thanks to key knocks from Alan Brooks (56) and Andy Ridewood 50. Les Hubbard top-scored with 65 as Keynsham closed on 191-6.
Saltford Fairway eased their relegation fears with their second win in succession – a 143-run victory over bottom side Dunkerton.
Saltford's total of 220 was built around another half-century from Wes Taynton (58) and skipper Kevin Fletcher's 63, while Dave Davies finished with 5-25.
In Division Two, second-placed Chew Stoke beat United Bristol Hospitals by two wickets, with three balls to spare.
Chew Stoke, chasing 213 to win, were indebted to Tom Pugsley and Lee Shorney, who each scored their first half-centuries of the season.
United Bristol Hospitals' Steve Court top-scored with 61 (his first 50 for the club) and opening batsman James Berstock made 53.
Bitton lost by 44 runs to The Star (Bath) despite youngster James Dyer taking 5-43 and opening batsman Andy Maggs hitting 83.
For the second time in 14 days, Winford were involved in a tie. This time, with the scores level on 213, they took Winscombe's last wicket with the final ball, leaving Jury Cureton stranded at the other end unbeaten on 99.
In the Winford innings, newcomer Michael Bond scored 63, his second half-century for the club, and E Henry provided good support with 62.
Filton Wayfarers made it eight wins in succession to move six points clear at the top of Division Three after a convincing six-wicket victory over Churchways.
Churchways' total of 115 was built around Mike Griffiths' 51, while Sam Peplow took 3-4 for Wayfarers.
In reply, Mark Wilson top-scored with an unbeaten 44 as Wayfarers reached their target.
Old Bristolians Westbury moved joint second with Barrow Gurney after beating the latter by 60 runs in a game that saw their wicketkeeper Ganesh Sundararaj take seven dismissals, four of them stumpings, and Neel Khimji finish with four wickets.
Failand & Portbury moved into fourth place after a 14-run win over Exiles (Bath).
Blagdon's four-game losing run came to an end with an emphatic 128-run win over Grendel which eased their relegation worries. James Hemmings top-scored with 66 off 52 balls after sharing a first-wicket stand of 103 with Tom Coles (31).
Bristol Bangladeshis won the Division Four top-of-the-table match with Claverham by 49 runs to extend their lead. The Bangladeshis were indebted to Jilal Ahmed with 67 in their total of 197- 9.
Bristol Indians moved into third place at the expense of Backwell Flax Bourton, who they beat by 55 runs.
The Indians had been reduced to 80-6, before Vivek Singh (106) found a willing partner in Preash Patel, the two putting on 101 for the seventh wicket to reach a total of 201.
In reply, Flax's Adam Watts (45) and Phil Thompson (60) put on 99 for the third wicket, before Sahil Patel struck three times to end their hopes.
