Bristol projects win green award

Friday, November 14, 2008, 13:56

Eight projects in Bristol won the blessing of the Civic Society at a ceremony at the Knowle West Media Centre.

The centre, which opened earlier this year, was itself one of the winners of the society's coveted blue plaques.

The seven others included the multi-million pound Symes District Centre, where major regeneration has transformed the Symes Avenue area of Hartcliffe.

The awards – which are sponsored by Bristol Water – recognise outstanding projects that enhance their environment.

The winners were chosen from more than 20 developments which were put forward by Civic Society members or the public.
