The honour of having the first hair cut in a new salon in Hanham went to five-month-old Redd Richardson.

Redd's mother Lisa is friends with Joe Clarke, joint owner of Joseph Hannah on the High Street. The pair thought it would be great if Redd's first ever hair cut was the first for the new salon.

Ms Richardson, 44, said: "Redd loved it, he really enjoyed himself. We thought it would be a fun thing to do and it went really well. He loves being the centre of attention and he loved the experience. He was born with a massive mop of hair which sticks up like a mohawk. We kept the top bit because everyone likes it and thinks it looks good."

Joseph Hannah was set up by Joseph Clarke after he left his former salon Charisma in Kingswood.

It has a female salon downstairs and a male barbers salon installed upstairs.
