After the men were taken into custody, trained officers wearing ballistics vests and blue latex gloves and specialist sniffer dogs then carefully searched the premises and vehicles – including a Renault Laguna, Vauxhall Insignia and a Range Rover.
An offensive weapon and what police believe to be a quantity of drugs were seized during a search.
Two officers kept guard at the entrance of the site turning away members of the public who had expected to drop their vehicles in for servicing.
Officers at the scene remained tight-lipped about the investigation confirming only that the premises was being searched.
Detective Sergeant Alan Smith, of Avon and Somerset police led yesterday's operation.
He said: "The police executed a firearms warrant at a property in York Street. This is part of an ongoing investigation. A thorough search of the property was completed and an offensive weapon and what we believe to be drugs have been seized.
"Three men, all in their 30s, were arrested in connection with the warrant are currently in police custody.
"The investigation continues and we are not able to discuss it in any more detail at this stage."
