Mangotsfield well beaten after injury to goalkeeper

Mangotsfield United 0 Windsor & Eton 4: Mangotsfield United were handicapped by an early injury to goalkeeper Tony Court as they were well beaten by Windsor & Eton in their Zamaretto Southern League Division One South & West clash.

With no goalkeeping cover on the bench, Court had to play 83 minutes of the game with a dead leg.

Up front, United lacked penetration and they were stifled in midfield.

James Pilling had brought an early save from Tom McNeill in the Windsor goal, but Court was then injured and Mangotsfield soon went a goal down.

A catalogue of defensive errors left Michael Chennells with an easy chance to put Windsor ahead in the 15th minute.

Then, just before the half-hour, a through-ball split the Mangotsfield defence open and the dangerous Victor Osobu went clear to beat the struggling Court.

Jake Parsons and Osobu both went close to increasing the lead before half-time.

Marcus Richardson added a third goal midway through the second half before Mangotsfield enjoyed a decent spell with Jack Allward and Scott Hendy going close to a goal.

However, Osobu added a fourth for rampant Windsor in the 72nd minute to complete a well-deserved victory.

The defeat leaves Mangotsfield third from bottom, although they do have some games in hand on the teams above them.
