Mangotsfield United Reserves went through to the third round of the Somerset County League Premier Division & Division One Cup with a 7-1 away victory over struggling Taunton Blackbrook.

There was good news for United first-team boss Phil Bater as midfielder Lee Collier made his return and got on the scoresheet having not played since August 15.

Also on target for Mangotsfield were Luke Prosser (3), Matt Brown, Ross Beazer and Ricky Bush.

Cutters Friday took the lead against Langford Rovers through Scott Saunders' deflected effort, but their opponents were 2-1 up by half-time.

Cutters made it 2-2 seven minutes into the second half through Ryan Bending and Saunders then made it 3-2.

On an eventful afternoon, Saunders then conceded a penalty, but goalkeeper Nick Porter saved the spot-kick.

Cutters took full advantage as Saunders completed his hat-trick and then added a fourth to make it 5-2.

Langford pulled a goal back but Cutters made it through to face BridgwaterTown Reserves in the next round.

Premier Division Backwell United scored through Darren Brown (2) and Ashley Hughes as they proved too strong for Division One Fry Club, whose consolation goal came from Dan Davis.

Division One leaders Stockwood Green had Jake James sent off as they slumped to a 4-0 home defeat against Odd Down Reserves.

● In the only Gloucestershire County League game of the day, Axa beat Yate Town Reserves 1-0.

The goal came 20 minutes from time when Yate goalkeeper Alex Pearce brought Brad Saunders down in the box and Nick Jones slammed the spot-kick home.
