The winner will take charge of the Bristol City team for the day, assisted by former Robins star Gerry Sweeney.

Testimonial chairman Chris Bradfield said: "We feel this a great chance for one lucky supporter to manage a team of greats – real legends.

"We've been taken aback by the number of players agreeing to take part in the game – and Manchester City's team will be very strong as well.

"For just £10 you could find yourself in the dressing room and the dug out managing the likes of Brian Tinnion, Darius Dziekanowski and Gerry Gow himself. It's a dream for any fan."

From the club's more recent history, Tony Thorpe, Colin Cramb, Andy Jordon, Lee Matthews, Tommy Doherty and Lee Trundle have all agreed to play, along with Darren Barnard, Adam Locke and Gary Owers.

Legendary winger Alan Walsh will also be making a return, alongside goalkeeper David Mogg and defender Chris Honor.

Supporters can enter the manager raffle draw by calling City's ticket office on 0117 963 0600. Each person is limited to up to three tickets and the draw itself to announce the winner will be made on Friday, July 20.

Asa Hartford, Joe Corrigan, Peter Barnes, Peter Beagrie and Fitzroy Simpson are among the big-name former players who have agreed to turn out for Manchester City in support of Gow, while striker Shaun Goater will play for both teams.

Tickets for the match itself are on sale now, with seats being sold in the Williams Stand primarily. Tickets are priced at £8 for adults and £4 concessions. Call 0117 963 0600 to book or buy online.

“Good luck to anyone trying to manage that lot!

Probably best if TinMan sticks to playing :-)”
