Dings Crusaders make changes in National Two South
Coach James Farndon switches his squad around, with winger George Watkins the only back to be retained in the same position from the side that lost at Bridgwater.
Tom Lukjaniec, who was in fine kicking form in Tuesday's Charles Saunders Combination Cup win over Whitehall, is handed a first league start of the season at fly-half.
Sam Caven, who claimed four tries in the 72-6 midweek success, teams up with Alex Dancer in midfield, while the experienced Sylvan Edwards is recalled on the wing and Orlando Stott switches to full-back. Up front, Jerry Quick takes over at prop from Ollie Hayes, who is on Bristol duty, while lock Josh Brown has been signed on loan from Bristol with Ed Hack injured.
Farndon said: "It's been a tough five weeks, but I cannot fault the effort and passion of the players.
"Some of our decision-making should have been wiser – we've been trying to play too much out of our own 22.
"There are 20 games to go. I don't see this as a crisis because I know we can pick things up."
Eddie Haupt (2), Dan Lee, Jones, Josh Sampson and Edwards also touched down as Dings joined Avonmouth, Clevedon, Keynsham, holders Clifton and Hornets in the last eight of the Combination Cup.
Third-placed Clifton, who have a weekend off, are able to rest their first-team squad ahead of the home clash with Richmond on October 31.
Hooker Neil Tucker makes his first appearance of the season for Clevedon, who are home to Cullompton in South West One West, with Joe Kanieki starting on the wing.
Yatton are at home to St Ives in South West One West.
