Cleve RFC driving opportunities for junior girls

Friday, June 26, 2009, 07:00

Girls aged between 11 and 16 are being encouraged to join a new team formed by Cleve RFC.

The club is opening up opportunities for girls to play both tag and full-contact rugby, as part of its commitment to meeting the RFU Seal of Approval.

Fully qualified coaches, including members of the Cleve Colts squad, are standing by to train the girls at all levels of the sport, from introductory sessions of non-contact tag, where players aim to tackle by snatching the special Velcro tags around their opponent's waists, to full-on tackling, rucking and scrummaging.

Full training will be given and coaches always ensure every player's safety is paramount.

For further information contact Cleve RFC, 0117 957 5775 or ladies coach, Sara Harding 01225 834725 or 07882 348858.
