Trotman's ton keeps Thornbury thriving

A century and four wickets from Richard Trotman kept Thornbury at the top of Premier Two following a one-wicket win over Taunton Deane.

Opener Grant Thompson (63) and Phil Lewis (45) steered Deane to 248-8 with Trotman finishing with 4-65.

The skipper then struck an almost-a-run-a-ball 102, including 15 fours and three sixes.

The next top scorer, Karl Hurkett with 29 not out, struck the winning runs.

Chippenham remain hot on Thornbury's heels after a five- wicket win over Ilminster.

Rob Hutchings top-scored with 48 not out in Ilminster's 144.

Ryan Higgins (54 not out) and Steve Silk (10 not out) guided Chippenham home with just over five overs to spare.

Matthew Bulbeck (78) and Chris Grange (51) led Taunton to a nine-run victory over Cheltenham.

Chasing 234-3, Cheltenham ran out of overs with Charlie Hall (33 not out from 45 balls, including 3 fours) and Michael Kelly (41 not out, from 40 balls, including five fours) at the crease.

Keynsham won by 29 runs against Trowbridge. After being put into bat, Keynsham made 177-7 with Mark Branton top scoring on 41 not out.

James Golding, Jack Taylor, Richard Pannell, and Simon Knowles all claimed two wickets each as Trowbridge scored 148.

Warminster hung on to claim a two-run win against Bristol West Indians.

Openers Nathan Bond (62) and Mike Selmes (46) shared a 91-run partnership before Christian Hanna cracked 73 not out in Warminster's 269-4.

Shawn Bennett (77) and Owen Johnson (41) put on 99 for the second wicket as the Windies made a good start in the reply. Akeel Yousaf hit 42 but Gary Slade took 6-65 to claim the win.

In Premier One, Weston-super-Mare's title hopes suffered a blow when they were beaten by Bath by six wickets.

Tailenders Rob Turner (43) and Andy Fear (39) rescued Weston, who posted 121.

Opener James Campbell struck 45 for Bath.

Leaders Taunton St Andrews secured a winning draw against Glastonbury after Martin Jenkins made 60 not out in Saints' 239-6.

In reply, Glastonbury hung on at 134-9 against fine bowling of Lloyd Alley 4-23 and Jacob Lint (3-29).

Frocester beat Bridgwater by two wickets thanks to No 8 batsman Ashley Davis' 49 not out. Craig Meschede hit 52 and took 3-38 for Bridgwater.

Bristol have given themselves a relegation lifeline after winning a low-scoring match against Corsham.

Alex Sanneck took 8-44 as Bristol were knocked over for just 71 but Bristol's two bowlers Will Rudge (7-30) and Darren Hooey (3-25), skittled Corsham for 61.

Bottom side Downend have claimed their maiden win of the season after beating fellow strugglers Knowle by four wickets.

Brothers Matthew (3-45) and Phil Jackson (3-35) restricted Knowle to 133 before Matthew Jackson top scored with 64 from 74 balls, including 10 fours and three sixes.
