We'll be going into the Olympics with a gold-medal mentality
OUR superb performances at the Champions Trophy in Argentina, where we got to the final before losing 1-0 to the hosts, were a great confidence-booster for this summer's Olympic Games.
I'm 20 and have been a member of the Great Britain women's hockey team for about a year. I started playing the sport at school in Lincolnshire and was drawn to how fast-paced and exciting it can be.
I also love playing in a team and sharing all the highs and lows with my team-mates. We've learned so much about each other and are all good friends.
As well as hockey, I'm studying law at the University of Bristol. Because I train at Bisham Abbey with the GB squad Monday to Thursday, the university have been excellent and allowed me to split my final year in two – I was meant to finish last year.
At the moment, I'm finishing off my last three modules, which I go into class for every Friday, and I do all the reading in my own time.
It can be a bit mad trying to live in two places at once. I rent two houses, one in Maidenhead, near Bisham Abbey, and one in Clifton, with five of my university friends.
I also play in the Premier League for Clifton Ladies, and I'm really lucky to be sponsored by Dick Lovett BMW and Mini in Bristol.
I'm so excited about the next six months. We've been training on the already-famous blue and pink Olympic pitch, which is a huge advantage for our preparation, and it's so great to see how the Olympic park is developing.
The team will be decided in May or June, when our training squad of 29 has to be cut in half. Only 16 of us will go to the Olympics, so training is really competitive.
As a squad, we have a 'gold-medal mentality', making every session, however small, count. We honestly believe we can go all the way.
