I have a dream of a better world

Saturday, October 31, 2009, 07:00

The following poem comes from the Reverend Dawnecia Palmer founder of central Bristol's prayer patrols.

Dawnecia describes herself as being a 21st Century Crime Fighter Campaigner for Street Safety, Equality and Justice.

"I Have A Dream"

I have a dream that one day

Someone like me

Will be accepted as a valuable part of the contributions

For a better city and world.

Where, someone like me….

Can feel that they may live with confidence

That they are equal, as the rest.

Where someone like me……

Me who?... who believes in Prayer as part of the Solution

For street crimes, kids carrying knives, kids dying…

Drugs, drugs harming our kids, killing our kids, kids maiming and killing each other

Someone like me,

Who believes that prayer is a big part of the Solution

May feel accepted, included and valued

Equally, as the rest.

I have a dream….

That one day I too will be able to feel that I can live and work

For what I believe in

Equally, as the rest.

I have a dream that one day our kids and our streets will be safe,

That is my Prayer

That is my Dream.

I have a dream that one day my dream will become a reality.

Reverend Dawnecia Palmer

I have a dream of a better world

Have your say

Manchester is getting a congestion charge, and Bristol could also have one by 2014? Do you think it will work in Bristol?
