Police have issued a computer-generated image of a man suspected of a serious sexual assault on a 16-year-old girl in Bristol.

The girl was walking home when she was dragged off the street and attacked at 5.30am in Minto Road, St Werburgh's on Saturday, February 14.

Her attacker was in his mid-30s, mixed race or Mediterranean appearance, with short curly dark hair.

He was clean shaven, slim, medium height and with a thin face and clear complexion.

At the time of the attack he was wearing long-sleeved, dark shirt with thin stripes or checked pattern on it and blue jeans. He spoke with a Bristolian accent.

Detective Sergeant David Paniccia-Brown said: "This young woman was subjected to an abhorrent attack which has left her extremely shaken.

"Enquiries are ongoing and I now have an e-fit of the suspect which I hope someone will recognise.

"I would urge anyone who thinks they know who it is to come forward and suggest a name.

"We have the DNA of the suspect and can easily discount anybody suggested who is innocent of this crime.

"It is important that we find the person responsible and if you can help do come forward and speak to us in confidence."

Anyone who can help should contact the Major Crime Unit on 0845 456 7000.
