Two people were injured in a three-vehicle accident which closed two lanes of the M5 near Bristol last night.

One female was among the casualties in the collision which happened northbound between junction 18 and 17 at around 8.05pm.

Just one lane was left open to traffic which caused delays for around two hours.

One person was taken to hospital, but their injuries were described by an Avon and Somerset Police spokesman as relatively minor.

“They are allowed to take them onto dual carriageways which are sometimes up to motorway standards.......

They teach lane discipline, changing lanes, joining intersections and leaving them.”
