Three injured in Portbury road crash
Three people were taken to hospital after an accident on the Portbury Hundred road.
The incident happened at 9.15pm on Thursday, when a Citroen Saxo and a Seat were in collision.
A man and a woman in their early 20s were trapped in the Saxo, and had to be cut free by firefighters.
Firefighters had to use hydraulic cutting equipment to remove the cars roof and doors so both could be removed on spinal boards.
Both were conscious and breathing, and were taken to hospital with suspected spinal injuries.
The driver of the Seat was taken to hospital before the fire service arrived.
A spokesman for Avon and Somerset police said he did not believe the injuries were life threatening.
Three appliances attended the incident, including the rescue tender from Avonmouth.
