ingenie launches quick car lookup to help young drivers find the right car
Young driver insurance specialist ingenie recently announced the launch of Quick Car Lookup – a tool designed to help young drivers pick a suitable car.
The insurer, which works closely with investor and ambassador Gary Lineker, as well as partner Williams F1 Team, sought to give customers the chance to see if their car was acceptable – without having to go through the full quote process.
"For young drivers, insurance is a huge factor to consider when choosing a car. We’ve already revealed our top 20 insured cars to give an idea of what other young people are driving. By adding Quick Car Lookup to our website, we’ve made it possible to check the suitability of any car without having to fill in an entire quote form," said Richard King, founder and CEO of ingenie.
King added, "Young and new drivers are often frustrated when they realise the cost of their insurance can be higher than the value of their car. In reality, the cost of the car is one of the least significant factors influencing the quote. Many other factors are taken into consideration, in particular the risk you pose to other drivers on the road, including damage to their car and personal injury."
Insurance prices have risen considerably in recent years, meaning insurance quotes play a large part when choosing your first car. ingenie's “black box” approach to car insurance – where a telematics device is installed behind the dashboard to assess and incentivize young drivers – is growing in popularity, with the British Insurance Brokers Association (BIBA) forecasting 500,000 black box insurance policies live within 2 years.
