This is Bristol

WELL-KNOWN Somerset stained-glass artist and life-long Bristol City supporter John Yeo lives and works in Bowlish, near Shepton Mallet.

What makes the West Country "home" to you?

I am proud of my West Country heritage. My family has lived in Somerset and Devon for at least the last five centuries; I even have a West Country surname.

How do you relax?

A couple of pints in the George Inn at Croscombe, near Wells.

When and where are you happiest?

When I am travelling. I like to be anonymous in countries where no one speaks English and I have to use maps and phrasebooks to get by.

What is your earliest memory?

Sitting in a Land Rover in a farmyard near Devizes, drinking Ribena. I must have been about three years old.

What makes you laugh?

Self-deprecation. I like people who don't take themselves too seriously.

What do you dream of?

Bristol City in the Premier League. Hopefully that dream will come true in May 2009.

What is your greatest fear?

Under-achieving.

Who do you most admire, living or dead?

Captain James Cook for his sense of adventure, Winston Churchill for his extraordinary intellect, Nelson Mandela for his humanity, Eric Clapton for his musical genius, stained-glass artist Roy Coomber for his generosity and talent, and John Atyeo for being arguably Bristol City's greatest-ever player.

What is your worst habit?

I'm not sure it is necessarily a bad habit but I am never totally satisfied with anything I do. I always feel I can improve and do better.

What possession could you not live without?

My passport.

What is your greatest frustration?

I wish there were more hours in the day.

What is your favourite book?

Old Mendip by Robin Athill.

What is your favourite word?

Yes.

What would you choose to eat and drink at your last meal?

Haddock and chips and a cup of tea.

What is the love of your life?

Bristol City Football Club.

Who would you invite to your dream dinner party?

Eric Clapton, Shirley Williams, Chrissie Hynde and Prince Charles. I think there would be some stimulating conversation.

What law would you introduce if you were in charge?

Fly-tipping, littering, graffiti and vandalism would not be tolerated.

What single thing would improve your life?

An extra day a week.

What is your greatest achievement?

Cycling, unassisted, 3,667 miles across Australia, coast to coast. I did the journey in the middle of the Australian summer, just to make it even more of a challenge.

What talent do you wish you had?

I am happy with what little talent I have.

How would you like to be remembered?

I would like to think I made a difference.
