Bamfield Lodge, Avery Healthcare's care home in Bristol which opened last year, has received the maximum three-star rating from the Government's Care Quality Commission.

The home, in Whitchurch, opened just over a year ago and now the standard of care provided by staff for the 60 residents has been officially acknowledged.

"Very few homes make it into this top league of care provision," said Avery healthcare's managing director John Strowbridge. "We are delighted at this recognition of the hard work and dedication provided by our staff at Bamfield Lodge day in and day out throughout the year.

"It ably demonstrates how this home stands out in the region for the quality of care it provides"

The inspection by the CQC looked at all aspects of care in the home, acknowledging that it is one of the most modern in the area.

It also singled out the support residents receive, the capabilities of the staff and the quality of the training provided by Avery.
