Eight homes left flooded after torrential rain strikes
EIGHT homes in Yate were flooded after torrential rain at the weekend. Rainwater poured off a swamped field at the back of homes in North Road on Friday night.
Fire crews used pumps to stop the water from rising in people's homes.
Printer Steve Pittaway, 53, and his wife had returned early from a holiday in Wales because of the bad weather.
He said it was about half-an-inch deep in places. He said the firefighters managed to stop the flooding get any worse.
