Weston-super-Mare men plead guilty to killing Darren Plumley

Two Weston- super-Mare man have admitted killing a man in the town in the early hours of New Year's Day.

Sultan Burak, 30, of Richmond Street, and Deniz Mehmetoglu, 33, of Clevedon Road, both pleaded guilty to the manslaughter of Darren Plumley, 25, following an incident in Gloucester Street.

The men had faced an allegation of murder but were both pronounced not guilty of that charge.

Martin Meeke, prosecuting, told the court a pathologist's report showed Mr Plumley had not suffered serious physical harm but had died as a result of a mild concussive injury after consuming a substantial amount of alcohol.

Mr Justice Royce ordered pre-sentence reports on both men.
