Driver admits killing Bristol teenager Troy Atkinson

A Bristol man has pleaded guilty to killing teenager Troy Atkinson who was knocked down by a speeding Mercedes in Cabot Circus.

Mohammed Ahmed, 19, of Eastville, today pleaded guilty to taking a vehicle without consent, death by dangerous driving, failing to stop at the scene of an accident, and driving without insurance.

Ahmed was at Bristol Crown Court today. He was bailed to live at an address in Birmingham and to reappear at a later date to be sentenced.

Troy, 15, from Hartcliffe, died in hospital after suffering severe head injuries when he was hit by a car on April 28.
