Fallen heroes

The faces you see below portray the human cost of the British Forces' campaign in Afghanistan since it began in October 2001.

The Army has had the most fatalities during the campaign, with more than 70 soldiers paying the ultimate sacrifice for Queen and country. The RAF and the Royal Marines have also both lost personnel.
