Rally driver Penny Mallory meets Bristol teenagers

Rally driver and TV presenter Penny Mallory roared in to south Bristol to inspire teenagers.

She was the guest of Oasis Academy Bristol, where she spoke to Year 10 and 11s.

Penny, a former champion rally driver told the youngsters at the secondary school in Hengrove, how she made a success of her life after being a teenage tearaway.

Academy principal Rebecca Clark said: "Penny's story is truly inspirational; for someone who at 14 ran away from home, and for a while ran out of options, her turnaround in fortunes is remarkable. With her desire to achieve what others said she couldn't, Penny has become a British champion, as well as a popular television presenter.

"Ms Mallory said, "If there's only one thing they remember from the day, I hope that it is that with determination and hard work you can achieve more than you can imagine."
