Hovis advert inspires our kids to learn
Bakers Hovis has launched a range of educational materials based around its TV advert, which follows a boy's journey through iconic events in British history, and a new schools education programme was launched at the Hengrove school last week.
Children learnt about significant moments in the nation's history, investigating the characters and periods featured in the advert before starting a history project.
Headteacher Jennifer Bailey said: "After the advert first aired, it was a huge talking point among our pupils. With TV being such a popular medium nowadays, it's a fun way of highlighting key historical British moments. This is a subject that the kids often find uninspiring, so we're extremely pleased to be using this alternative educational tool here at Perry Court."
Claire Low, marketing manager at Hovis, said: "As an iconic British brand, we wanted to ensure that the advert reflected the heritage of our nation. The Hovis Education Programme gives children the chance to learn about many issues."
A further two modules, which focus on healthy bones and exercise, will be rolled out later this year.
