Fey's boys fired up for cup clash

Richard Fey says his Cadbury Heath team cannot wait to get stuck into Premier Division Bishop Sutton.

The pair clash at Springfield in the preliminary round of the Les Phillips Cup, a tie that pits Fey's ninth-placed Division I outfit against a Sutton side who, for all their impressive signings, are struggling to get their season off the ground.

Fey, however, is not taken in by Sutton's stuttering start and predicted: "Bishop Sutton have got to be going places with the players they have brought in and there's little doubt they will be in the title shake-up.

"But we have some decent players too and Jimmy Potts has scored eight goals in three games since joining us. He's forming a great partnership with Toby Colbourne, so hopefully they'll have a say in tomorrow's tie."

Sutton boss Lee Lashenko, whose side defeated Hallen 2-1 in midweek, said: "We're not playing with any consistency at the moment and, with the likes of Jimmy Potts in their team, Cadbury Heath will be fired up to beat us."

Keynsham Town boss Steve Cains has elevated their Under-18s chief Paul Bridgman to the role of assistant manager after previous number two Kevin Evans was forced to step down from the role.

"Kev was made redundant from his place of work and didn't feel he could commit to us at this time," said Cains, who takes his team to Bradford Town.

"There's a good continuity at the club, which we hope will continue with Paul moving up to assist me."

Hengrove Athletic manager Jamie Hillman is considering signing Winterbourne United's young attacking midfielder Tom Evans. "Tom is a lively player by all accounts but I need to take a look at him to make sure he is what we need at this time," said Hillman, who remains without right-back Luke Crewe for the tie against Shrewton.
