Bristol teachers three peaks challenge for late head teacher
The nine staff members from the Hengrove school tackled three of the highest peaks in the UK to raise £2,150 for the British Heart Foundation, as a tribute to John, who died after a heart attack in February this year.
The group was led by head of community Paul Roberts, who set up the team in March and has been leading regular training sessions.
The rest of the team were Louise Williams, Felix Ellis, Andrea Rae, Jessica Fresle, Caroline Hill with Richard Avery and Jill Rowe supporting and driving the minibus.
The weekend-long event saw the academy team trek to the summit of Ben Nevis in Scotland, Scafell Pike in England's Lake District and Mount Snowdon, the highest mountain in Wales.
For the final stage they were joined by John's eldest son, Noah, 11.
Paul said: "John was a very active man and it means a lot to be able to honour his memory in this way."
