He could have helped lift Rovers
A FEW weeks ago as a life long fan, home and away, of Bristol Rovers I wrote a letter to Mark McGhee saying take a look at Robert Earnshaw over at Cardiff.
How disappointed I was to see he had signed for Maccabi Tel Aviv on a season loan.
Mark says the only strikers offered to him are raw youngsters. If he did look at Earnshaw, he must have been impressed and I am sure that at this stage of his playing days he would not have been asking the earth in wages. Also being settled in Cardiff, a move over the bridge would have been ideal.
This man, a proven net finder, would have shot the Rovers up close to the play-offs. Was he approached? I don't think so.

By the way, when I first saw my first Rovers' match 74 years ago, the bottom three clubs were Newport, Aldershot, Bristol Rovers. Not much has changed.
