Two wins out of three for Almondsbury Town

Injury-hit Almondsbury Town maintained their unbeaten start to the Hellenic League season with a hard-earned 1-0 victory at Ardley United, which keeps them in fourth spot, having taken two victories and a draw from their opening three games.

Almondsbury took an early lead when Kane Ingram scored from the penalty spot after striker Kacey Johnstone had been brought down.

The Ardley goalkeeper denied Sahr Kabba with a good save early in the second half, but the home side put Almondsbury under pressure and it needed a couple of good saves from keeper Ben John to protect their lead.

Ardley then went down to 10 men when they had a player sent off midway through the second half for a foul on Brad Andrews, and Almondsbury were able to play out the rest of the game and take a hard-earned victory.

In Division One West, Tytherington made it three wins from their opening four games with a 3-1 home victory over Harrow Hill.

Marcus Taylor beat his marker to give Tytherington the lead with a well-struck shot from 25 yards after 25 minutes.

Twenty minutes into the second half Harrow Hill equalised through Luke Mayo, but five minutes later Tytherington regained the lead after Taylor's pass set up James Hicks.

Substitute Mark Greenham added a third goal with a well-taken lob over the stranded keeper.
