Two people were arrested in Burnham-on-Sea after police found cannabis and a shotgun at a house in Rosewood Crescent, Burnham-on-Sea.

The 40-year-old man and 31-year-old woman were later released on police bail pending further inquiries.

Police also searched a second house in Highbridge Quay where cannabis was seized. A 34-year-old man received a warning and was not arrested.

PC Richard Smith said: "As a result of community intelligence we were able to secure a warrant for the address on Rosewood Close. We would like to thank the community for working with us to keep Burnham a safe place to live.

"As this demonstrates, we do act on intelligence we receive from the community, so please report any information to us.

"Burnham and Highbridge police will not tolerate drug dealing, drug use or drug related crime in the area and for those who are involved in this activity, it's a case of when, not if, you will be receiving a visit from us."
