The Dorn Method is a very gentle and safe manual therapy, which was developed to focus on the causes of common Back and Joint pain, originating in Germany where it is very popular and now growing in the UK.

It is a Complementary Therapy employing techniques, which have been designed to correct misalignments of the spine and other joints using a dynamic approach with full active participation of the client. The Dorn Method avoids unnecessary stress to muscles and ligaments and involves no jerky manipulation, no thrust moves or 'clicking' and 'crunching' of joints which some people fear or dislike.

It is also a self-help system, where therapists promote good posture and teach a set of simple self-help exercises for clients to practice at home, the aim being to help maintain long-term health.

Dorn has appeared on TV and radio with numerous articles published in specialist magazines and well-known consumer health publications.

Dorn therapy can be combined with a very relaxing spinal massage called the Breuss Massage. This gentle massage safely stretches, nourishes, aligns and energizes the Back. The Breuss massage can be useful when a client for example has severe sciatic pain, where the massage may help to take away some of the pain and tension, and may also help to make Dorn therapy more effective.

Reiki Treatment

The method of receiving a Reiki treatment from a practitioner is a very simple process. The recipient simply lies on a couch and relaxes. If they are unable to lie down the treatment can be given in a sitting position, the main thing is for the recipient to be as comfortable as possible. There is no need to remove any clothing, as Reiki will pass through anything. The practitioner gently places their hands non-intrusively in a sequence of positions, which cover the whole body. The whole person is treated rather than specific symptoms. A full treatment usually takes 1 hour with each hand position held for several minutes. It is excellent for healing of any kind, and gives wonderful results. There is no belief system attached to Reiki so anyone can receive or learn to give a Reiki treatment, the only requirement is the desire to be healed, or heal others.
