Six go head to head for Easyrunner prize
For some local athletes, March was the high point of the season with the English Schools' Cross Country and the UK Sportshall Championships – and both events produced some excellent performances.
For others, it was a chance to take stock, have a break and begin preparations for the track and field season.

But we still have six excellent candidates vying for the accolade of the Post's athlete of the month and claiming the prize of a pair of training shoes from Easy Runner, Bristol's leading athletics retailer, in St Michael's Hill.
The winner will be announced in next Saturday's Evening Post.
CAMERON COETZEE: Representing Avon, the Clevedon AC runner booked his place in the South West Under-15 boys' squad for the London Mini Marathon trials in three weeks' time after finishing third in the trials race, held on the cycle paths from Bitton station.
ELLIE BRODIE: The 17-year-old Westbury Harrier ended her cross country season by finishing third in the final Gwent League race at Carmarthen to clinch the overall league title.
ZAK TOBIAS: The 14-year-old Bristol & West runner opened the month by finishing seventh in the inter boys' race at the London Mini Marathon trials in Bristol. The following week the QEH student was Avon's top finisher in the boys' races at the English Schools' Cross Country Championships, finishing 29th in the junior event at Stanford Hall, in Leicestershire.
KATIE GRINYER: Representing Avon the Bristol & West AC runner booked her place in the South West Under-13 girls' squad for the London Mini Marathon trials after finishing fourth in the trials race.
KIERAN HAWKINS: Hawkins had his best run of the winter to just miss the top 50 at the English Schools' Cross Country Championships, finishing 51st in the inter boys' race at Stanford Hall.
JOSH EVANS: The Cotham School student became a double champion for Avon Schools' Under-13 boys' team at he UK Sportshall Championships, in Birmingham. Evans won the four-lap title in 46.4secs, improving from 47.7secs in his heat, and then joined up with Calum Hannay (Backwell) to take the eight-lap pairs relay.
