Hanham Minor League: Downend Saints Under-10s won the local bragging rights by beating Downend Boys 4-1 in the Hanham Minor League Cup.

Saints led 1-0 at half-time after Ben Wheaton played in Jack Brice, who beat two defenders before firing past the goalkeeper.

Straight after the interval, Saints went 2-0 up when Brice's free-kick was cheekily headed in at the far post by the impressive James Carling. And they sealed a 3-0 first-game win when good work by Luke Patel played in Brice, who scored his second goal of the game with a lob which beat the despairing defender on the line.

Saints started game two strongly and took the lead when Karl Bessell's corner was deflected into the net by an opposing defender.

With Joseph Porter and Max Wright holding firm in defence, Boys had few chances to breach their back line.

Santana Schooler went close on several occasions to increasing Saints' lead before their opponents grabbed a late equaliser when George Duggan's powerful drive was deflected into the net.

Warmley Rangers sailed through to the last eight of the Under-10 Cup with a 9-2 aggregate victory over Whitchurch Sports A.

Whitchurch twice took the lead in the opening game but they struggled to cope with the potency of hat-trick hero Nathan Wilkes, while Mason Lewis, who struck his first goal of the season from the edge of the box, and defender Matt Emery, with an amazing lob, put them firmly in charge.

Game two started with Warren Forrest scoring the first of three superbly-taken goals as chances came thick and fast, aided by good midfield play from Jacob Trowbridge, Louis Lacy, Connor Blyth-Robbins and substitute Cory Goodhind.

Jack Baker's close-range finish completed the scoring, while at the back Owen Comley and Freddie Flook produced resilient performances for the victors.

Brislington Juniors had to work hard for a 7-1 aggregate victory over Winterbourne United.

They won the first match 3-1, taking the lead in the second half with a powerful shot from man-of-the-match Will Osborne.

Winterbourne responded immediately with an equaliser as Ryan Sharpe expertly converted Benjy Parker's cross, only for William Thomas' rebound strike, after Liam Fitzpatrick had made an excellent penalty save, and Jake Pullinger's effort to see Brislington to victory.

In game two, Jonah Ache put Brislington in front and Sam Crumb cracked a superb hat-trick to clinch a 4-0 success.

Bitton also went into the last eight, producing a quality performance to defeat Stoke Lane 7-1.

After an even start to the first game Jacob Howell put ahead in game one with a solo effort just before half-time.

Two quickfire goals from Alex Begbie-Dilks confirmed their superiority after the break. George Neill extended the lead to 4-0 with a cracking drive from outside the box and Louis Gordon rounded off the scoring with a fifth goal.

Bitton started the second game well and went in front midway through the first half with a splendid Harvey World strike.

Soon afterwards, Dan Hynes stole the show with an amazing goal, receiving a bouncing ball midway inside the Lane half and unleashing an unstoppable, dipping volley into the top corner of the net. Stoke Lane pulled one back before half-time but couldn't find an equaliser as they went down 2-1 in a closely-fought contest.

Nicholas Wanderers turned in two terrific displays to beat Ashton Boys 10-0 in the Under-11 Cup. Sami Karahan led the way with a hat-trick in a 7-1 win in game one.

Jared Ford, Callum Fudgell, Solomon Smith and birthday boy Xavier Nicastro were also on target.

At the back, keeper Sean Marvin, Sam Isles, Jared Ford and Jack Josham all did well, while midfielder James Morton showed bags of industry.

Ashton fought back well in the second meeting but, with keeper Terry Wise, Joshua Greenbury, Joe Hanhauser and Jordan Gilbert working flat out in defence, and midfielders James Kautz, Jack Staples and Jordan Connolley always in support, Wanderers swept to a 3-0 win.

Jacob Leeworthy (2) and Kwyn Gilbert, with a superb strike, grabbed the goals.

Oldland Abbotonians went through with a comfortable 11-2 aggregate victory at Cadbury Heath.

Ben Sayers, Toby Jennings and Luke Barrington, with a clever lob, put them 3-0 up at half-time in game one. Sayers added three more to his personal tally after the break while a Jamie Keld double and another for Barrington completed a 9-0 win.

The second game was much closer. Oldland led 1-0 at half-time thanks to a well-taken Will Powell goal. Heath hit back to go 2-1 up but Curtis Bragg had the final say for Oldland with the equaliser in a 2-2 draw.

Mangotsfield United put up a brave fight but it wasn't enough to stop them tumbling out of the Under-9 Cup 8-2 against Warmley Rangers.

Game one was a superb contest which Warmley won 3-1 against a gutsy Mangos side who normally perform two divisions beneath them in the league.

Goals from Zac Cheetham, Charlie Shail and striker Tom Withers were enough to cancel out Harry Haughton's fine early effort for Field, whose Lewis Lesley and keeper Jack Whinham performed well at the back.

Warmley were always on top in game two, a well-taken hat-trick by man-of-the-match Jayden Rands and two goals from Lewis Silverthorn sealing a 5-1 win and a place in the quarter-finals. Edward Baker scored the Mangotsfield goal.
