Simpson brothers sink Ashton

Three goals from brothers Dale and Danny Simpson helped promoted Southmead CS Athletic overturn a 1-0 half-time deficit to beat Ashton United 4-1 and move to the top of Premier I.

Danny Bryant had given the United the lead but Dale, who netted twice, and Danny turned the game on its head. Chris Storr scored Southmead's fourth goal.

CTK Southside are in second place with maximum points after winning 3-1 at Stoke Gifford United, for whom Luke Bartley scored his third goal of the season.

Champions St Aldhelms bounced back from last week's surprise defeat to defeat Winford PH 4-1 with goals from Lewis Rudge (2), Gary Warren and substitute Richard Griffiths. Lee McMurray scored for Winford.

Tony Beacham hit a hat-trick for Avonmouth, who pipped Fishponds OB 5-4. Robert Allen added a fourth to make the score 4-4 before Simon Knight grabbed the winner.

Josh Reid and Ben Tucker were on target for Old Georgians in a 2-2 draw with Cadbury Heath Reserves.

Nick Steward's first goal for Glenside Five OB and a goal from Dino Parker could not stop them losing their second successive game, as they went down 3-2 at Broad Plain House.

Bristol Telephones lead Premier II after a 4-2 at Wessex Wanderers. Chris Shepherd and Jamie Lewis were on target for Wessex, who have lost their first two games.

Second-placed Lockleaze won 4-2 against Lawrence Weston, whose scorers were Ashley Tarr and Lee Rolfe (penalty).

Martin Brock hit a hat-trick as Division I champions Bristol Athletic opened their Premier II campaign with a 4-2 home win over Little Stoke. Simon Smart added the fourth goal.

Richard Crocker's second-half goal earned Bristol North West a 1-1 draw at home to Whitchurch, while Craig Lancastle scored for Severn Beach, who drew 1-1 against Ridings High.

Tom Milkins cracked a hat-trick and his father Colin was also on the scoresheet for St Aldhelms Reserves, who beat Almondsbury UWE Reserves 4-3 at Headley Park.

Imperial Saints have made a brilliant start in Division I, scoring 19 goals in two games.

Their latest success was a 10-0 demolition of Ashton Rangers, in which Billy Downs scored a hat-trick and his twin brother Sam hit two goals. Lee Jones and Danny Goulding also netted twice, with Johnny Daniells completing the rout.

Rockleaze Avonside Reserves lead the division having played a game more than Imperial, but they dropped their first points after drawing 2-2 at Keynsham Town A.

Broad Plain House Reserves are third after winning 3-2 at Filton Athletic, for whom Luke Walker scored both goals.

Dean Stevens celebrated his first game as manager of Ashton Seniors with a 4-2 win at Totterdown POB thanks to goals from Leon Britton (2), Zak Bovey-Watts and Jehrone Feranabez. Ellis Whiting and Mark Johnson scored for Totterdown, whose goalkeper Dave Morgan saved a penalty.

Old Cothamians overcame Hengrove Athletic 4-2 with goals from Steve Harbridge, Chris Bone and two from 16-year-old Ashley Bonynge-Pearce on his first-team debut.

Last season's Norman Goulding Cup winners Cartwheel Sports lead Division II after beating Thrissell Nomads 5-2.

The Pitman brothers took their goal tally to five each for the season as Lee scored a hat-trick and Jay one. Richard Manning was also on target.

Goals from John Davis and Ken Onuche gave Corinthian Sports the lead at CTK Southside Reserves, who hit back to win 4-2.

Ross Wolsey (2), Lee Michael and Russ Milkins were on target for Mangotsfield United A, 4-2 winners at Cadbury Heath A, while Alan Pope (2), Chris Reed and Ben Fry fired Southmead CS Athletic Reserves to a 4-1 home win against Almondsbury UWE A.

Scott Bowler, Richard Harding, Matt Steele and Ashley Nixon were the Bristol County marksmen as they went top of Division III with a 4-3 home victory over Hanham Athletic Colts.

Broad Plain House A are in second place after drawing 5-5 with newcomers BW Athletic.

Two clubs have 100 per cent records but have played a game less than the leaders. Ashton United Reserves were without a game but Golden Hill followed up a midweek victory with a 3-1 win at Parson Street OB. Jason Brown, Jamie Carter and Tom Dimanalso scored for Golden Hill.

Five teams have 100 per cent records in Division IV, with the lead shared by Coupland Insulation, who won 3-0 at Ridings High A thanks to strikes from Danny Moore, Dale Leonard and Lee Coupland, and AFC Spartans, 4-1 winners over Winford PH Reserves.

John Noel, John Winterbottom, James Lander and Kevin Downes, with a rare header, were on target for Spartans.

Of the other three, Oldbury Crusaders Reserves edged out Wessex Wanderers Reserves 4-3, Lawrence Weston Reserves beat local rivals Avonmouth A 2 1 and Brandon TT Sports defeated South Glos (Hambrook) Reserves 2-1.

Rolls Royce are the early Division V leaders after winning 6-3 at Whiteladies, whose scorers were Paul Hughes (2) and Josh Kavanagh.

Jay Weare scored five goals as Stoke Rangers walloped a depleted Knowle Rangers 14-0.
